Mobile App
The ACVP mobile app
 is now available.

Apple App Store:

Google Play:

Web App (for Blackberry and Windows phone users):

Instructions: To download our app to your phone, click on the link above from your device to be taken to your app store. When the app appears inside the store, select “Install.” Your app should begin downloading.

On your mobile device, you can also search for “ACVP and ASVCP Annual Meeting” in either the Apple App Store or Google Play store to find and download the app.

If you don't have an iOS or Android device, you can still use the app online by entering the web app link above into your phone’s web browser.

Download the app prior to coming to Vancouver for the meeting, especially if you live outside of Canada.  Check with your cell phone provider about any additional charges for using your phone if you do not live in Canada.

How to use the mobile app?  Start here.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  The mobile app is not iPad compatible. The schedule on the mobile app is viewable by date and time. We recommend using the Search & Filter feature within the Schedule for the best user experience. Once you have selected "Schedule" from the main menu of the app, the Search & Filter feature is located in the upper right corner. By selecting the 'magnifying glass' you have the ability to perform a full text search of the content within the Schedule. You also have the option of filtering by a specific session once the filter icon is selected. Using the filter feature will make navigating the schedule much more manageable during your busy conference schedule. Take advantage of selecting your own personalized schedule for the meeting!

ACVP is not printing a full program this year, although a pdf will be available on the website. The schedule-at-a-glance and scientific grid will be distributed as a handout.  All three will be available in pdf format on the mobile app.

Along with the mobile app, ACVP has a site for the speaker proceedings. If a speaker has provided a handout, it is available both on the mobile app and at this site. Visit either to review information prior or after the presentations.

W.R. Kelly

If you are planning to attend the presentation by Dr. Kelly, there are 8 gross and 8 histo images located here. Dr. Kelly will discuss as many of these as time permits during his ACVP presentation. Please notice that the histo images are NOT related to the gross image cases. Please note also that the images have been circulated as PDFs. In order to optimise viewing of these in Acrobat, simply press Ctrl+L when each file opens, and it should appear in full-screen mode.

Delegates who attend this session will be expected to have worked on these cases before the meeting, so that they can participate energetically in the discussion of the questions raised. The session is designed to be of particular benefit to trainees.

If time runs out, after the conference Dr. Kelly will circulate his interpretation of cases that aren't discussed during the session.

Vancouver Convention Centre--West Building
Review the floor plans for the Vancouver Convention Centre, site of the scientific sessions.  The Vancouver Convention Centre is divided into two different sides -- east and west.  Our meeting will be in the West Building. Sessions will be on level 1 and 2 of the West Building.  The Convention Centre is located 1-2 blocks from each of the three hotels being used for the Annual Meeting.

The Vancouver Convention Centre's West building has been awarded LEED Platinum certification (version 4) for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance by the Canada Green Building Council. Coupled with its 2010 Platinum certification for New Construction, the Vancouver Convention Centre is the first double LEED Platinum convention centre in the world.

Platinum is the highest level of LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and version 4 is the newest version of the rating system, considered “the framework and benchmark for the next generation of green buildings.”

The Vancouver Convention Centre is committed to a sustainable operation with a large focus on waste diversion. Based on the three fundamental principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle, the program is facility-wide and includes both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.  Recycling bins are placed throughout the facility to encourage delegates to recycle all materials including organics, paper products, plastics, glass and metals.

Policies for Photography, Audiovisual Recording, and Social Media

The members of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) and the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ASVCP) are committed to the advancement and open sharing of scientific knowledge and also recognize a fundamental responsibility to prevent the unauthorized use of proprietary, preliminary, or unpublished information shared by speakers.  To promote open scientific communication while respecting the rights and intellectual property of presenters and their institutions, the ACVP Council has adopted the following policies regarding the use of photography and social media during the ACVP and ASVCP Concurrent Annual Meeting on November 4-8, 2017:

Flash photography is prohibited.  Non-flash photographs may be taken during oral or poster presentations for non-commercial personal use only, unless prohibited by the speaker, and may NOT be published in any form.  Distraction to presenters and audience members must be minimized when capturing images.

Audiovisual recording
Audio or video recording of sessions by means of any device (e.g. cell phones/PDAs, laptops, cameras, etc.) is prohibited.

Social Media
Attendees may post information from sessions on social media in a professional manner but are expected to respect the wishes of presenters.  Information or images from presentation slides marked “DO NOT POST” may NOT be shared on social media in any form.  Information on posters may NOT be posted to social media unless permission is granted by the corresponding author/presenter.

Thank you for adhering to these professional standards.  These policies will be evaluated and updated annually by ACVP and ASVCP leadership. Additional questions or concerns may be directed to:
