Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission
Little Rock, AR
Programs Offered
The Diagnostic Laboratory offers 1 to 3 month externships in veterinary
pathology for third and fourth year veterinary students. These
externships are co-sponsored by the Davis Foundation for the
Advancement of Veterinary and Comparative Pathology. Students learn
more about disease processes by performing necropsy examinations and in
assisting the microbiologic, toxicologic, and histopathologic
evaluations on all species (pets, poultry, livestock, and zoo animals).
Externs may also participate in an active clinical pathology service with many
cytology cases. Previous externs have successfully entered veterinary
pathology post-graduate programs.

The Livestock and Poultry Commission Diagnostic Lab is in Little Rock,
