The Research and Education Endowment Fund
An endowment fund is a permanent fund that provides support to an organization for special activities that strengthen it and help it achieve its vision. When this fund reaches a total of $500,000, it will support ACVP activities like summer fellowships, scholarships and research grants. This permanent fund will provide for the research and education needs of the ACVP and will ensure that the College can meet the future needs of its members. ACVP will seek annual donations and bequests for this fund.
The General Scholarship Fund
The goal of this fund is to encourage bright, promising students and residents to consider or further their careers in veterinary pathology. This fund supports continuing education for students, residents and graduate students by providing student chapter travel awards, extern scholarships, and resident travel awards. Because this fund is not designated for a specific purpose, it has more flexibility to meet emerging needs.
Harold
W. Casey Scholarship Fund
The Harold W. Casey Scholarship was established in 1993 in memory of Dr. Casey, a past president of ACVP. The scholarship recognizes and rewards outstanding individuals training in pathology and striving to achieve ACVP board certification. Annually, $1,000 is awarded to a qualified individual.
Harold W. Casey Scholarship Award Recipients:
William
Inskeep II Scholarship Fund
Dr. William Inskeep retired from the US Veterinary Corps with the rank of Colonel. He was the first veterinarian to be Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and also served as the Veterinary Pathology Consultant to the US Army Surgeon General and was the Department of Defense Liaison to the US Department of Agriculture. Because William Inskeep was a graduate of the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, the $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Colorado State University veterinary student with a demonstrated interest in pursuing veterinary pathology as a career.

Externship
Scholarship Fund
Externships provide expanded veterinary pathology experiences outside of the classroom. Demand for scholarship support grows each year and Council has budgeted a maximum of $21,000 for scholarships. The Externship Scholarship Subcommittee is responsible for reviewing applications and awarding the scholarships. This task becomes increasingly difficult each year as more applications are received than the Subcommittee can provide funding.
