PhD and Training in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology
Applications are invited for a tax-free post-graduate scholarship
($AUS40, 000 p/a for 3 years) to undertake a PhD in veterinary
anatomic pathology. This scholarship is available from 4th January
2010.
The live cattle export trade is an important contributor to
the Australian economy. This project, funded by Meat and Livestock
Australia and LiveCorp, aims to investigate animal health in cattle
on long haul voyages and will contribute to improvements in systems
designed to optimise animal health and welfare during export.
This
position is available for a veterinarian with a degree in Veterinary
science registrable in Australia. Preference will be given to applicants
with a background in cattle medicine, a special interest in veterinary
pathology or laboratory diagnostics and some knowledge of the beef
cattle and live export industries. The
successful applicant is encouraged to undertake ACVSc Membership examinations
during their doctorate. The position will involve full-time study based at Murdoch
University, Western Australia.
Applicants must provide in their application, documentation
of their experience in cattle medicine, laboratory diagnostics
and the beef cattle and live export industries. They will
also need to submit with their application a plan of <500 words
outlining their proposed approach in conducting their research
project.
