Residency/PhD training opportunities in Anatomic Pathology. Oklahoma State University’s (OSU) Center for Veterinary Health Sciences (CVHS) and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) have partnered to address the growing shortage of veterinary scientists. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has a DVM or equivalent degree, and a keen interest in pursuing a career in anatomic pathology. This is a 6-year position with the first 2-3 years primarily devoted to anatomic pathology residency training at OSU’s CVHS and the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL). OSU boasts ten anatomic pathologists, with 9 actively engaged in diagnostic pathology, encompassing a wide range of species and tissue expertise. The ultimate goal of the residency portion of this training program is successful certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. The remaining time will be devoted to PhD training with intense investigation into the broad specialty area of diagnostic imaging at the OMRF, where the faculty conduct cutting-edge research in biomedical science using a cross-disciplinary approach focusing on such critical research areas as heart disease, cancer, lupus, and Alzheimer’s disease. Anticipated starting date is July 1, 2010. The annual stipend will start at $40,000.00 per year plus a benefits package that includes health insurance. The application should include a clear statement of both short and long-term goals, a recently updated curriculum vitae, official transcripts from professional studies with standardized GPA’s, and contact information for at least three professional references.
