Faculty Position in Comparative Pathology The Section of Comparative Medicine, Yale School of Medicine announces a faculty opening at the assistant/associate professor level for a veterinary pathologist with interest and expertise in laboratory animal and comparative pathology. Responsibilities emphasize diagnostic pathology and supervision of an anatomic phenotyping core. This work will feature anatomic phenotyping of genetically engineered mice, and collaborative studies with Yale investigators on a variety of laboratory species. The position also entails instruction of graduate students and residents in laboratory animal pathology and development of collaborative or independent research. The Section of Comparative Medicine is a free-standing academic unit based at the School of Medicine with a full-time faculty of 12 veterinarians, physicians and basic scientists, including 2 ACVP-certified veterinary pathologists. Service components include fully staffed and equipped facilities for gross and microscopic pathology including special procedures such as immunostaining and in situ hybridization. The Section also operates the Animal Genomics Service which produces and characterizes genetically engineered mice for investigators throughout the University. Current faculty research interests include the pathobiology of infectious diseases and animal models of neurotropic viral infection, hepatitis C virus infection, metabolic bone disease and genital cancer. Applicants should have a D.V.M. or equivalent degree, ACVP board certification or eligibility, and demonstrable research training and experience consistent with a professorial track appointment.
