Anatomic Pathologist

The Texas Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, a member of the Texas A&M University System, has an immediate opening for a full-time anatomic pathologist. The Laboratory, located in the central Panhandle City of Amarillo is accredited by the AAVLD and currently employs 3 anatomic pathologists. The laboratory accepts submissions from a variety of companion, food-producing, and exotic animals with an emphasis on food animals. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with expertise or desire to develop expertise in dairy, feedlot, cow-calf, or swine pathology. New graduates or those requiring additional time/experience for Board Certification are encouraged to apply. The Laboratory is located in a busy, rapidly growing medical center complex with three hospitals, a school of Pharmacy, and a branch of the Texas Tech Medical School. The Texas A&M Agriculture Research and Extension Center, USDA-ARS Research Center, and members of an agriculture consortium including multiple Universities, closely interact with the diagnostic laboratory, providing research opportunities.

Requirements:
DVM and successful completion of a residency in pathology, preferably leading to the MS degree, are minimum requirements. The position requires an individual with good organizational, oral and written communication skills. The ability to successfully interact with colleagues in other disciplines and animal owners/producers will be an asset.
