Our mission is to provide timely information about the effects of small molecules, biologics, genes, and cell therapeutics on in vivo and in vitro models of human disease. Your major objective will be to work with other scientists in the Therapeutic Areas of Immunology, Cardiovascular Disease, Oncology, and Dermatology to provide timely information regarding the design and evaluation of animal models of disease and their histologic endpoints. You will also be evaluating human cancer, brain, or skin tissues and analyzing them for the presence of novel markers using immunohistochemical methods. Confocal microscopy and laser capture microscopy will be available as needed to add value to project study designs. You will be required to interpret data from immunohistochemical and in situ hybridization studies. The opportunity to work on one's own research projects will also be available and is encouraged. Board-Eligible or Certified Pathologist (MD or DVM) with at least 0-3 years of experience in Anatomic or Surgical Pathology. Knowledge of molecular biology is essential for establishing an in situ hybridization service. Experience in Cell Biology is highly desirable, as is knowledge of a variety of histologic techniques. Experience with digital photography is a plus. Requires scientific creativity in solving a wide range of scientific and/or technical problems. You will be required to keep abreast of current related technology in order to maintain a strong command of scientific developments in requisite field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, or comparable software. Excellent interpersonal abilities, writing and communication skills, flexibility, ability to work in a team, strong problem-solving skills, and collaborative skills are also required.
