Aventis Pharma, a world leader in the pharmaceutical industry, is currently looking for enthusiastic and qualified veterinary pathologists to join its Drug Safety Evaluation Department located just outside Paris, France.
Job Description
The successful candidates will participate in the design of preclinical safety assessment studies and will be responsible for the evaluation and interpretation of postmortem data from these toxicology studies. The individuals will also be involved in the design and execution of mechanistic studies to explore toxicity issues using standard and state-of-the-art slide-based techniques. In addition, the appointed candidates will conduct collaborative research with scientists from Drug Discovery in the development of pharmaceutical products. Opportunities also exist to actively participate, as a Project Team representative, in the drug discovery and development process. Collaboration with scientists in the Drug Safety divisions of Aventis Pharma in Bridgewater (USA) and Frankfurt (Germany) will also be expected.
Requirements
Qualified applicants will possess a D.V.M. or its equivalent. Board certification by the American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists, a Ph.D. and experience in pharmaceutical development and safety assessment are preferred, but all candidates will be given careful consideration. Fluency in oral and written English is required and conversational French is desirable.
