UNIVERSITY OF BERNE, SWITZERLAND
is offering a
Position in Anatomic Veterinary Pathology with
special emphasis on Zoo Animal Pathology
(level from instructor to assistant professor equivalent)
beginning April 1, 2010 or upon agreement
We are seeking an enthusiastic veterinary pathologist to complete
our team of currently 7 pathologists. The successful applicant will
enjoy main responsibility in zoo animal pathology, collaboration with
zoos, teaching, and the rewards of guiding our residents to a successful
completion of the ECVP board exam.
The position includes participation
in our domestic and zoo animal necropsy unit, teaching of undergraduate
veterinary students and residents (appr. 60%). In addition, we are
seeking candidates with the drive to sustain and extend our internationally
recognized Zoo Animal Pathology Programme in close collaboration with
the Zoos of Basle and Bern. This scholarly activity includes the possibility
to develop research projects in the area of Zoo & Exotic Animal
Pathology.
The candidate should be ECVP or ACVP Board certified or eligible
for the exam. Willingness to learn German is required.
The appointment
will be for a six to ten year period.
