Director/Sr. Director, Pathology
The Director/Sr. Director, Pathology manages and supervises the scientific,
administrative, and technical activities related to Pathology with
emphasis on overall leadership, and for contributing to departmental
planning. This individual provides pathology expertise on behalf
of the company and represents Celgene Corp with appropriate academic
centers and the regulatory authorities.
The Director/Sr. Director is also responsible for assisting the VP,
NonClinical Development in establishing and achieving long-term Corporate
Strategic goals and tactical objectives.
Strong verbal and written skills; ability to provide focus and clarity;
able to handle confidential information and material appropriately. Ability
to anticipate resource needs and helps establish priorities. Ability
to work effectively in a collaborative team environment where results
are achieved through influence and the incorporation of multiple points
of view.
Strategic Decision Making
Strategic thinker who can balance near term objectives with long term
goals and outcomes, evaluate risk and develop effective solutions
through an integrated multi-disciplined decision-making approach.
Team player, mentoring ability.
An advanced graduate degree in a relevant field, generally a D.V.M.
with Ph.D. in pathology, with extensive training and industry experience
in Tox/Path and an excellent understanding of preclinical drug development
process. Board certification required.
Years of Experience:
Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical, 7-15 Preferred
Industry Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of regulatory and standard industrial practices
in pathology and toxicology.
