The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow is further strengthening its pathology team, now under new leadership, to maintain and extend its international reputation in this field.  We now seek a suitably qualified colleague to join our established team.

A strong focus on serving as an active collaborator with researchers in biomedical and clinical sciences within and outside the Faculty will be expected, with provision of expertise in comparative/experimental pathology and phenotyping of animal models.  In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to surgical biopsy and necropsy services in a well-established and diverse diagnostic unit, participate in undergraduate teaching, and assist in establishment and supervision of a residency programme aimed at achievement of board certification from the European and/or American Colleges of Veterinary Pathologists.

Applicants must have a veterinary degree, ideally experience in diagnostic veterinary pathology (gained in a formal residency training programme), and a PhD in a veterinary/biomedical discipline or board certification from either ECVP or ACVP.  Support can be provided for applicants with a PhD who wish to sit the ACVP or ECVP examinations.

Informal inquiries may be directed to Prof. Janet Patterson-Kane (j.patterson-kane@vet.gla.ac.uk).
