The Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences at the
Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine has an open tenure
track position in Clinical Pathology.
The Clinical Pathology Laboratory
is a unit of the Animal Health Diagnostic Center (AHDC) with three
ACVP-Board certified Clinical Pathologist positions, a laboratory supervisor,
7 medical techn-ologists and 2 clerical staff. This high-volume, high-quality
laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art hema-tology and clinical
chemistry analyzers and provides service both to clients of the AHDC
and patients at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. Rich opportunities
for collaboration with established research programs at the college
and university exist, including in areas such as hemostasis, genomics,
clinical/ molecular oncology, population medicine, nanofabrication,
etc.
The primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain a high
quality research program. The position also will include commitments
to the DVM-teaching activities and clinical diagnostic services of
the Department. Qualified candidates must hold the DVM degree
(or equivalent) and preferably a PhD in a biomedical field, be certified
by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in Clinical Pathology
or be eligible for certification, and have a record of scholarly accomplishment.
