We are seeking an enthusiastic, personable and dynamic veterinary
anatomic pathologist to join our rapidly growing diagnostic pathology
company. Certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists,
European College of Veterinary Pathologists or Royal College of Pathologists
would be preferred, although experienced candidates who are yet to
sit their postgraduate examinations will be considered. A PhD or research
training in veterinary pathology or a related subject would be particularly
desirable.
Bridge Pathology is a recently launched veterinary diagnostic histopathology
and immunohistochemistry laboratory in a beautiful part of Bristol,
UK, dedicated to the provision of top quality diagnostic surgical pathology
services to the veterinary community. Our caseload is mostly composed
of companion animal species, with a large proportion of our clients
being in referral veterinary practice.
Stemming from an academic background, we are very keen to use our
case material for clinical research purposes, such that our prognostically-relevant,
clinically-driven studies may have a direct bearing on diagnosis, prognostication
or treatment of veterinary patients. This will involve both internally
and externally-funded research projects, carried out independently,
and in collaboration with other academic partners. We have excellent
links with the veterinary schools and other research institutes throughout
the UK. Dedicated time to be spent on research projects is factored
into the diagnostic pathology rota.
CPD is encouraged and supported. Salary is commensurate with experience.
To apply for this position, please send your CV and covering letter
to Dr Tim Scase, Director, Bridge Pathology Ltd., PO Box 2877, Bristol,
BS8 9FH, UK. For informal enquiries please contact Tim directly at tim@bridgepathology.com
The closing date for applications is August 14, 2009, or until the
position is filled.
