New Hampshire Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory
The University of New Hampshire invites nominations and letters of application
for the position of Veterinary Pathologist in the New Hampshire Veterinary
Diagnostic Laboratory.

Description: The College of Life Sciences and Agriculture
(COLSA) at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) seeks highly motivated
applicants for the position of veterinary pathologist in the college-affiliated
New Hampshire Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (NHVDL). The position
will be a twelve month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor
appointment for a term of three to five years at seventy-five to one-hundred
percent time, depending upon the qualifications of the successful applicant.
The minimal qualifications include a DVM or equivalent degree with at
least two years experience or training in veterinary pathology. Board
eligible or diplomate status in either the American or European College
of Veterinary Pathologists or an advanced degree in veterinary pathology
is preferred. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, an ability
to communicate effectively and an ability to work collaboratively with
diverse communities. Rank and terms of employment will be consistent
with training, experience and College and University policies.
The NHVDL operates with oversight and funding from the UNH Agricultural
Experiment Station and the NH Department of Agriculture, Markets and
Food (NHDAMF). The laboratory provides diagnostic services for monitoring
and surveillance of animal diseases in NH, a wide range of diagnostic
services for private veterinary practices, and is an integral contributor
to the undergraduate and graduate teaching, research and outreach missions
of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture. The successful candidate
will be expected to participate in the NHVDL diagnostic pathology service,
have undergraduate or graduate level teaching assignments in the Department
of Molecular, Cellular and Biomedical Sciences, and participate in the
animal and public health disease surveillance mission of the diagnostic
laboratory. Opportunities exist for developing specialty diagnostic services,
such as wildlife and aquatic animal disease diagnostics; research collaboration
with UNH faculty in agricultural, wildlife, marine and general biological
science programs; and consultation or collaboration with regional biomedical
institutions and companies.
