INSTITUTE OF COMPARATIVE MEDICINE
LECTURER IN VETERINARY PATHOLOGY
REF: 00028-3
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow is further
strengthening its pathology team, now under new leadership, to maintain
and extend its international reputation in this field.
Are you excited by the new approaches and technologies in veterinary pathology?
Do you want to utilise and develop contemporary and innovative investigative
approaches and be supported in an active academic environment while you
do so? Come and join a dynamic team with a focus on cutting-edge research
and diagnostic pathology, and help train the next generation of veterinary
pathologists, researchers and practitioners.
A strong focus on serving as an active collaborator with researchers in
biomedical and clinical sciences within and outside the Faculty will be
expected, with provision of expertise in comparative/experimental pathology
and phenotyping of animal models. In addition, the successful candidate
will contribute to surgical biopsy and necropsy services in a well-established
and diverse diagnostic unit, participate in undergraduate teaching, and
assist in establishment and supervision of a residency programme aimed
at achievement of ECVP and/or ACVP board certification.
Applicants should have a postgraduate qualification in veterinary anatomical
pathology, or be eligible to sit qualifying examinations. A PhD in a veterinary/biomedical
discipline is preferred, as is experience in laboratory animal pathology.
However, support for training will be provided for the latter.
