for a Scientist/Veterinary Pathologist. You will support
a wide variety of research activities within the Center for Advanced
Preclincial Research (CAPR) by combining veterinary pathology skills
with modern molecular biology and genetic tools to study mouse models
of human cancers and applicability of such models for drug development. This
will include interacting with CAPR project leaders, managers, and team
leaders in studies directed toward various phases of animal model development
and efficacy evaluation of selected therapies in the model system.
In addition to basic and applied studies, will direct the development
and support of specialized molecular and basic pathology services for
the disease model(s). Will communicate and collaborate extensively
with CAPR investigators and the senior staff of the Pathology and Histotechnology
Laboratory Core.
Requirements include a graduate of a veterinary school accredited by the AVMA
(e.g. D.V.M. or V.M.D.), satisfactory completion of the foreign equivalency examination
(passing grade) administered by the AVMA, or M.D. with experience in rodent pathology.
Board certification in anatomic pathology preferred. Foreign educated candidates
who have completed part or all of their education outside of the United States

in the United States. In addition to the educational requirements, a minimum
of two years related experience in experimental and/or comparative pathology
is required. Documented research in significant publications and peer-reviewed
journals, especially experience in pathology evaluation of genetically engineered
mouse models of carcinogenesis (in particular, brain, prostate, pancreatic and
lung neoplasms) desirable. Experience in design and conduct of preclinical trials
is a plus, along with basic understanding of molecular genetics principles. This
