 * Sr. Research Fellow Veterinary Pathologist located in Lafayette, NJ or Summit, NJ.

Opportunity snapshot:

  • Work in partnership with Toxicology and Safety Pharmacology colleagues to design, conduct, report and interpret rodent, dog and non-human primate drug safety studies on candidate drug substances. Such activities encompass responsibility for clinical pathology and macroscopic and microscopic anatomic pathology, including pathology peer reviews, and generally represent 30-60% of an individual’s work responsibilities. Participate in project-related assignments and serve as the representative of Drug Safety Evaluation on organization-wide Project Teams, which manage development of candidate drug substances from late discovery through regulatory approval and marketing authorization.

Specifically you will:

  • Be a key member of Drug Safety Evaluation investigative teams to examine mechanisms of toxicity.
  • Be an essential member of multidisciplinary team(s) that are oriented towards Investigational New Drug Application filings and or the support of existing molecules that are in clinical testing.
  • Provide pathology expertise to scientists from various disciplines in a team-oriented environment.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • DVM or equivalent and post-doctoral training in Veterinary Pathology is required. Experience in a research-oriented organization preferred, ideally within pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; additional experience in toxicological pathology desirable. Skills in experimental design, gross and microscopic tissue evaluation, and interpretation of pathology data required.
