Scientist- Pathology
Responsibilities:
A newly created Pathologist position is open in the Pathology research
organization. Genentech, the worlds leading company developing targeted
therapeutics for cancer patients, pioneered the development and clinical
use of antiangiogenic therapy. The successful applicant will join an
active program to expand our understanding of this therapeutic strategy.
He/she will work collaboratively with other pathologists, research scientists
and members of clinical drug development teams to identify, characterize
and develop novel anti-angiogenic therapies. He/she will also conduct
an independent, internally funded angiogenesis research program supporting
the overall goals of the group.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have both PhD and DVM degrees, with Board
certification (or equivalent overseas qualification), a minimum of three
years of prior vascular biology research experience and a record of high-quality
peer-reviewed publications. He/she must provide insightful but constructive
scientific input to multiple concurrent projects, have excellent organizational
and communication skills and must be able to work collaboratively with
colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experience.
