TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT IN VETERINARY PATHOLOGY

The School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow currently seeks an anatomic pathologist for a 6 month period beginning 5 March 2012 (length and start date are negotiable). Duties will include biopsy and necropsy service on a wide range of species.  The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to interact with anatomic pathology residents and veterinary students.

The school is located on the Garscube campus which a short distance from the fashionable West End of Glasgow and close to easily accessible rural areas, providing an excellent lifestyle in a popular city. Glasgow also has an international airport, with frequent flights to mainland Europe and throughout the world. Public transportation is excellent with frequent, timely, easy accessible trains, underground, and buses.  Flats that can be rented on a month-by-month basis are available within walking distance of the campus.

Minimum Qualifications
Interested applicants must have a BVSc, DVM, or equivalent and be registered with the RCVS prior to the start date. Applicants who have graduated from an AVMA accredited school, passed the NAVLE, and hold a current license are registerable and registration is easily obtained through http://www.rcvs.org.uk/registration/how-to-register/. Applicants outwith the EU and US/Canada may also be eligible.  Please check the website for eligibility.  A minimum of 3 years specialized training in anatomic pathology is required. ECVP or ACVP board certification is preferred.
