The Animal Medical Center, Department of Pathology is seeking a temporary, full time, board certified Veterinary Pathologist to support its in house biopsy and necropsy services, teaching and research programs. This temporary position would be available for approximately 6 months.

The successful applicant will be primarily performing diagnostic pathology services for cases within the hospital, including in-house surgical biopsy and necropsy cases. The pathology department at the AMC participates in the hospital’s strong commitment to teaching by contributing to lectures, seminars, rounds with clinical services, resident and extern training.

Required qualifications include a DVM and ACVP or ECVP board certification. Individuals with interest and/or expertise in diagnostic small animal pathology are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated teaching excellence is considered a valuable asset. The appointment will be at the rank and salary commensurate with experience.

Located on the upper east side of Manhattan, overlooking the East River, The Animal Medical Center is a large, comprehensive, not-for-profit referral center that has been a national leader in animal care since 1910. The Animal Medical Center supports a staff of over 30 clinical specialists and possesses an array of resources in the form of state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical equipment. Extensive training programs exist for externs, interns, residents and visiting scholars. The appointee should have excellent communication skills and an ability to work cooperatively with other faculty and staff.
